History

Our original Caramel Popcorn comes from an old family recipe first produced on State Street in Chicago for the 1893 World’s Fair. This delicious caramel popcorn became an instant classic with its deep brown color and molasses flavor. Through the 1970’s the product was sold exclusively at The Pecan Factory stores throughout the east coast. It was during this time that Bland Quantz, the creator of  State Street, decided to add pecans to the recipe and a new classic was born. Over the years the product became such a consumer favorite that The Pecan Factory was shipping the product nationwide.

In 1995 Mr. Quantz decided to package the Pecan Caramel Popcorn under the State Street name and it took off in the southeastern US. The current owners purchased the company in 2001 and have increased its distribution through-out most of the United States.

While others sacrifice flavor for lower production costs, we have continued to kettle cook our caramel popcorns with a blend of real butter, rich molasses, thick corn syrup and other old time recipe secrets. One taste and you will see why we call it the World’s Finest Caramel Popcorn.
